RTE Video Archives

Local Interest Videos available from the RTE Archives

The RTE Archives are an excellent source of local, contemporary and recent history on video with many items of interest.
The archive is building as old footage is being digitised and new content is added daily. Unfortunately much was not kept and is lost forever.
Among those of local interest There is 1970s footage of Mullinahone. A different village featured every week in the opening credits of Halls Pictorial Weekly or the later series Ballymagash.
Killenaule featured at some point in the early 1970s but so far has not appeared.

Killenaule has featured in past news reports, documentaries and current affairs. A small number may be available on the Killenaule youtube channel playlists such as Bibi Baskin in Killenaule, or the Derrynaflan Chalice.
Others seem to be lost to time, so if anyone has copies on VHS etc it would be wonderful to have them digitised.

Among the many videos of local interest are UFOS over Mullinahone, Heffernan The Bone Setter from Drangan, various Derrynaflan reports, Fethard Stella Days, reports from around, Clonmel, Thurles, Cashel etc.
