Help and Support for those who are cocooning, socially isolated or remote from their family and friends.

There are are various organisations and groups offering support, advice, help to people being particularly impacted in the current situation.
If you are or someone you know is feeling anxious, stressed, isolated, in need of various services, provisions or just a kind word, there are people who can help.

ALONE

ALONE

ALONE provides Housing with Support, Support Coordination, Befriending, BConnect training and technology, and Campaigns for Change to hundreds of older people every week, who are homeless, socially isolated, living in deprivation or in crisis.

ALONE launched a COVID-19 support line for older people in collaboration with the Department of Health and the HSE
A national helpline and additional supports and outreach for older people.

The helpline will provide advice and reassurance, complementing the clinical advice and HSE helpline and support.
Should you or an older person you know need advice or support you can reach us from 8am-8pm Monday-Friday on 0818 222 024.

AGE ACTION


Age Action’s Connect, Inform and Support approach to COVID-19 is detailed here or you can find out more about the services below which are available by calling 0818 9111 09.
Age Action has established a check in call service to contact all members, clients and stakeholders through the Getting Started, U3A and Glór networks to inform and connect older people during the COVID-19 emergency.
The phone number which operates 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday is 0818911109. In addition, Age Action has extended the Information Service online support through info@ageaction.ie to 8am-8pm 7 days a week.

Age Action and the Irish Red Cross launch COVID-19 Hardship Fund for older people in Ireland experiencing additional hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Age Action in partnership the Irish Red Cross is providing people with financial support to meet their immediate needs through the COVID-19 Hardship Fund. Funds have been raised through corporate donors and public contributions which mean that small grants can be made to older people who are struggling with the financial burden of self-isolating or cocooning up to a maximum grant of 500 euro.

Closing Date 24 April 2020 (according to IrishRedCross there may be some leeway so get form back quickly as possible)
